Sandy Creek is located in the scenic northern section of Oswego County, approximately 25 miles south of Watertown and 45 miles north of Syracuse, and just minutes away from the eastern shores of Lake Ontario, so it’s naturally popular for boaters. Beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts can visit Sandy Island Beach Park, which is part of the Eastern Lake Ontario Dune System, perfect for birdwatchers, hikers and kayakers. One of the biggest draws to Sandy Creek is the Oswego County Fair, which has been a community mainstay for more than 150 years. For nearly the last 40 winters, Sandy Creek has also been home to an Ice Fishing Derby hosted by the Sandy Pond Sportsman’s Association.
