Overview
A quiet town in the northeastern section of Oswego County featuring beautiful outdoor scenery, the town of Orwell is home to the Chateaugay State Forest, a gorgeous park of 3,465 acres available for hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, trapping and more. Eight trails crisscross the park, with varying distances and difficulties. Orwell is also home to the Salmon River Falls, a state “unique area” of 112 acres. The 110-foot waterfall can be viewed by several trails that make for great hiking and beautiful sight-seeing.
