OverviewOverflowing with rich historical value, the town of Mexico, also known as the “mother of towns” in Oswego County, is the oldest civil division in the county, and offers historical buildings and parks for visitors to explore. Mexico Point State Park, which hugs a portion of the eastern coast of Lake Ontario, overlooks the mouth of the Little Salmon River and provides opportunities for beach activities, fishing, hiking and picnics. Used as a spot for summer fun since the mid-nineteenth century, the park is also home to Casey’s Cottage, a remodeled stable from 200 years ago that is reportedly home to wandering spirits. |
