Overview
Close to the heart of Oswego County, Albion is home to a vast collection of outdoor entertainment and arguably the best museum in the county, the Salmon River Visitor Center and International Sport Fishing Museum. Housed in the hamlet of Altmar and maintained by the Pulaski-Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, the museum contains thousands of artifacts, including homemade antique fishing rods, lures, reels and more.
The Salmon River Fish Hatchery is also in the hamlet of Altmar, where visitors can track the progress of young fish before they’re released. If fishing’s not a source of entertainment for you, there’s also the Altmar State Forest, where you can enjoy everything from nature observation and photography to snowmobiling, hunting and trapping.
